What takes place at a silver jewellery workshop?

My aim is that you all enjoy your time in the workshop and leave proud of the jewellery you have made.

***************

All workshops are held in my garden workshop in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The workshops are for small groups of 2-4 as this allows me to spend quality time with you and give you the best experience possible.

Each workshop is dedicated to your group, allowing you to freely enjoy your time with friends and family.

***************

Workshops are suitable for both ladies and men. The jewellery we make is unisex and can be tailored to your taste.

You don't need to have any prior experience to come to a workshop and they are suitable for anyone the age of 14 or over.

(I'm working on some children friendly sessions with beads which I hope to release soon)

***************

The workshop will begin with a safety overview followed by a tour on the basics of jewellery making, tools and processes.

You will be able to have a go at some stress relieving hammering, to practice your textures, before deciding on the style of jewellery you want to make. I will then guide you through making your piece from start to finish. This will include sawing, filing, soldering, refining and polishing.

(If you are making something with a gemstone you will learn a basic stone setting technique.)

***************

Tea, coffee, water and biscuits are provided. I am happy for you to bring your own snacks however we are strict no nuts or peanuts on site due to a family allergy.

Although alcohol must not be consumed before the workshop, due to safety reasons, if you would like to bring something for after you have completed your makes I would be happy to keep your bottle chilled and provide some glasses.

There will be time at the end when we have popped the pieces into a polishing machine and this can be used to relax and chat with a drink if you wish.

***************

(If there is something you would like to make that isn't on the list please contact me and we can discuss. Also if you would like to use gold or specific gemstones please contact me at elandejewellery@gmail.com)

Why choose Elande Jewellery for your workshop?

I am passionate about using creativity as an outlet for mindfulness and mental health, and jewellery making not only supports this, but also means you create something beautiful to keep.

I started my working journey teaching children in school where I discovered my love of supporting others and building confidence. I then moved into a training team for a large retail company guiding managers with their training needs.

In 2017 I began to host jewellery making workshops which has ranged from small groups making silver jewellery to large groups of Brownies and Church groups making beaded items.

I have loved each one and all have been successful with gorgeous items made.

I truly love guiding and watching people create their unique items and even those who tell me they have no creativity have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Elande Jewellery.
